THE ROSETTA WEB™ is designed to be correctable. Researchers, workers, families, archivists, historians, and members of the public may identify errors, point to missing sources, or contribute evidence for review without automatically changing the public historical record.

Foundation Edition
Correction is part of historical method.
Rosetta will distinguish a proposed correction from a verified correction, and a contributed document from a historical finding. Every substantive change should remain traceable to the evidence that justified it.
Contributions may identify archival records, citations, contracts, technical reports, photographs with provenance, worker records where lawful and appropriate, oral-history leads, missing collections, or errors in Rosetta's own published material.
Core principle
A submission is not automatically evidence.
Material enters a review process. Provenance, authenticity, context, citation, rights, privacy, and evidentiary meaning must be evaluated before a contribution can alter a Rosetta finding or public page.

Substantive public corrections will eventually be logged with the affected page or record, date of correction, nature of the change, and evidentiary basis.
Review standard
Preserve the chain of custody.
Useful submissions should identify, when known, the document creator, title, date, document or accession number, repository, collection or box/folder location, page number, public link, and the specific Rosetta statement or relationship the material bears upon.

Privacy boundary
Do not publish sensitive personal material by default.
Worker records, medical information, private correspondence, contact details, and other sensitive material require additional review. Rosetta's public mission does not require indiscriminate publication of every record received.
Correction policy
Substantive corrections should not disappear into silent edits.
When evidence materially changes a published historical statement, Rosetta should preserve a visible correction history sufficient to explain what changed and why. Minor typographical or formatting corrections need not be treated as substantive historical revisions.
